Ripped from the chaos of battle, mystics, mages, and seers vanish without a trace, taken by the Daemon and swallowed by the insidious portals. The battlefield mourns their loss, but far worse fates await them. Within the bowels of Ar'onaths realm these once-gifted souls are shattered beyond recognition, their bodies contorted by dark sorcery, their minds eroded by unspeakable horrors. Their powers, once a beacon of hope, are now a vessel for malevolent forces. All that remains of their former selves is a void filled with malice and an insatiable hunger for destruction.

By the time the other races comprehend the true nature of this new threat, it is already too late. Old friends and cherished loved ones stand frozen in terror, as the twisted forms of those they once knew approach, unrecognizable in their wickedness. The horror sinks in—the enemy before them is not a stranger, but the very souls they fought to protect, now lost to an abyss of corruption.
